You finally finished something you’ve been working on, now how do you show it? Do you put it on an easel, hand it with wire or slap a frame on it? An easy method is to use two eye hook screws on either side of the work and have a wire going from either side. This works best for thicker works like canvases (screw into the wood planks), pieces of wood, or anything that screws won’t damage. You could also screw on a little saw tooth hanger for things that aren’t too heavy.
Erasers
Oh there is a plethora of erasers out there. Why so many? They can do different things, and people love to have options. Options of color, density, shape and more. Here are some erasers I have. And even an old eraser can be made new. Simply take an X-Acto knife to one and you will create the perfect sharp edge. Wether they’re tiny or huge, solid or like gum, erasers help out artists in many mediums. If your eraser is getting older or too caked with graphite, rub them on a surface like jeans, or even the sidewalk and it will clean them right up.
Old Paint?
Once paint starts to get older, it can thicken, get sticky and overall be a mess to use. It is hard to throw away art materials for many artist, so what do we do with our old paint? I have a bucket in my studio filled with old tubes of paint, and I still use them. I use pallet knives to apply the paint on a canvas, piece of wood, or any material. I can use the thick textures to sculpt and build up the paint. I like doing gradients with simple patterns, but really the thicker paint could be used in any art. However, this is a simple technique to try out, while not wasting any paint!
